5 Must Haves for Setting up a Basement Bar

Posted on June 25, 2022 by Robert Burress

When setting up a basement bar there are some must have items you must have around or your basement bar won't really be a bar but just a basement pretending to be. Needless to say, there are a few extras like a jukebox and pool table that will truly set off the bar. But consider the following 5 must haves in order to set up your own basement bar to enjoy a night with your friends, parties, game days and then add the extras when you can afford to.

A Basement

This may seem obvious, but to have the best basement pub ever you actually need a conventional basement. There are numerous advantages to this that include being on a very different level than the rest of the home so noise will not be transmitted and bother those over you. Needless to say, you can produce a basement bar in whatever area you call the cellar, but a genuine basement bar requires a basement.

A Bar

Okay, obvious requirement number two is a pub. A basement bar requires a bar that's set up to serve beer and give the appearance your basement bar is actually authentic. You can purchase a ready made pub, hire a carpenter to build you one, or give it a go yourself by purchasing the timber and downloading step by step directions from the web. So long as you have a basement and a pub your basement pub just needs a few accessories.

A Kegerator

A kegerator is a refrigerated keg that will keep your beer cold at all times and be prepared to serve anytime the cellar bar is open. You don't need to need to buy six packs and clutter your bar with bottled beer when you're able to serve beer straight from the keg. Keg beer is unique and will make your cellar bar even more so.

A Large TV

No, you do not need to get the largest screen television on the current market, but it is going to help. Buy the greatest screen tv you can afford for your cellar bar, or one that matches the area nicely if your basement is truly small. This will allow for great game viewing such as the Superbowl, Basketball National Championship, and other terrific games.

Seating

This may seem generic, but it truly is a must have for your basement pub. If your friends are joining you for a night of poker or Monday night Football they want somewhere to sit back and relax while drinking some of your keg beer. So, be certain to get some bar stools around the bar in addition to comfy sofas and chairs surrounding the TV, along with your own poker table nearby so there's tons of chairs where the action is occurring.
